If you've ever traveled with Shy, you probably know that he spends many hours doing menu research for local food and drinks, both before and during, any trip. For your convenience, these are the fruits of his labor. Please report back with any food experiences: good, bad, and otherwise. We love to hear it.
This is a Jess favorite. Crepes and stuffed waffles. Always remember the wise words of Leslie Knope, "We need to remember what's important in life: friends, waffles, work. Or waffles, friends, work. Doesn't matter, but work is third."
Shy found this menu and immediately started salivating. Jess was jacked because the veg options look fire. Not cheap, per se, but probably worth it. When asked to describe Ember, Shy said, "a very chef-y modern American restaurant. Fancy plates and great views."
Self-proclaimed best breakfast in town. Benedict options for days. In the wise words of Ron Swanson, "There has never been a sadness (hangover) that can't be cured by breakfast food."
Order for yourself, or crush it family style. Shy's description is, "a cozy spot nestled right up to the Big Thompson River. Old school Italian vibes with all of your favorites."
"Feel deep in the mountains when you enter this old lodge setting serving old fashioned mountain fare fit for a steakhouse, featuring bison, elk, and venison," - Shyler Block, who really likes bison, elk, and venison.
"authentic Irish pub" - Shyler
"The food tastes better than 23 and me results confirming you're over 10% Irish." - Jess
Seasonal menu. Next to Bond Park. Perfect for any meal.
Shy noticed an "evolving menu with a wide variety of options, including a smoked brisket, grilled cheese, and a wild game meatloaf." Jess thought the menu photos looked mildly** sapphic. Choose your own adventure.
How you like your eggs? Fried or..... over easy, poached, or scrambled. They will cook 'em however you like, but days at the Egg are always sunny side up.
"Cozy little coffee shop and French bakery offering delicious sandwiches and paninis on their freshly made breads, bagels, and croissants." - Eat here, and hire Shyler for all your food-forward marketing needs.
This is our favorite type of joint. The Barrel Beer Garden has loads of beer options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and you can bring in food as you please. Check out their website linked above for the food trucks they're bringing in. In downtown Estes, they'll have yard games, too.
Here we have yet another brewery (We are in Colorado, after all), but this one has its own food menu. It has all the best features of a brewery: beer, games, and burgers. Located right on the outskirts of town, there's a helluva view. There's a menu for the kiddos, too.
